Who we are

JZ Precision Plumbing Limited (company no. 14688749), Flat 1, 2 Heather Gardens, London NW11 9HS. We decide how your details are used, so we’re the “controller” under data protection law.

What we collect

When you book or contact us: your name, phone number, email if you give it, postcode and address, the type of property, what the job is, and the day and time you’d like.
Photos or videos you send us, for example on WhatsApp.
When we do the work: job notes, photos of the work, your invoice and how you paid.
If you’re a landlord, agent or business: the contact details of the people we deal with, and access details for the property.

Why we use it, and our legal reason

To reply to you, arrange and do the job, and invoice you. Legal reason: to take the steps you ask for before a contract, and to carry out the contract.
To keep business and tax records. Legal reason: the law requires it.
To handle complaints and claims. Legal reason: our legitimate interest in looking after our customers and our business.
To send you the occasional offer or reminder about similar services, by text or email. Only if you’re a customer and haven’t opted out. Legal reason: our legitimate interest in keeping in touch with customers, under the rules for marketing to existing customers. You can opt out when you book, by replying STOP, or by contacting us at any time.
To send a report to your insurer, landlord or managing agent. Only when you ask us to.

Who we share it with

Our engineers who carry out your job.
Companies that run services for us, such as our website host (Hostinger), our email provider and WhatsApp, and anyone who helps us with our accounts.
Your insurer, landlord or managing agent, only when you ask us to.
The police, courts or regulators, if the law requires it.

We never sell your details.

Where it’s stored

Some of the services we use, such as email and WhatsApp, may store data outside the UK. When they do, UK law requires them to protect it with approved safeguards.

How long we keep it

Job records: 6 years after the job, because company and tax records must be kept that long.
Enquiries that don’t go ahead: 1 year.
If you opt out of offers, we keep a note of that so we don’t contact you again.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your details, ask us to correct or delete them, ask us to limit how we use them, object to how we use them (including for offers, at any time), and ask for your details in a format you can take elsewhere. Some rights depend on why we hold the data. To use them, email enquiry@jzprecision.co.uk or call 07362 264505. We reply within one month.

Do you have to give us your details?

We need your name, phone number and address to arrange and do the job. Your email address is optional. We don’t make decisions about you by computer alone.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve used your details, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
